As any other diehard racer, the off-season seemed a little too long for California native Cole Whitt.
Securing a full-time ride in the No. 72, Whitt is ready to embark on the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.
Alike the others, he kicked-off the season last weekend where he secured the 34th position during Daytona 500 qualifying, slotting him to start 18th in Can-Am Duel 1 Thursday, February 22 at Daytona International Speedway.
Having five previous runs at the 2.5-mile oval, Whitt is set to make his sixth NASCAR Cup Series start at the famed SuperSpeedway; where he holds a best finish of 11th during the July 2016 event.
With Frankie Kerr leading the competitive efforts as Crew Chief, Whitt is ready to settle in behind the wheel of the Florida Lottery No. 72 for the Daytona 500.
Kerr and the No. 72 team will run chassis No. 568 at Daytona International Speedway.
Can-Am Duel 1 is scheduled to start at 7:00pm ET, Thursday, February 22. Both Can-Am Duels will air live on FOX Sports 1.
The Daytona 500 is scheduled to start at 2:00 pm ET, Sunday, February 26 airing live on FOX.
