No. 24 Truck Series team penalized post-Charlotte

NASCAR announced Thursday that the No. 24 Camping World Truck Series team of Justin Haley has recieved an L1-level penalty for violating Sections 20.17.3.2.1.2 and 20.17.3.2.2.2 (Post-Race Front and Rear Body Inspection Heights) of the NASCAR Rule Book. The penalties were found after Friday night's North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Post-Race height measurements on the truck were outside of NASCAR's allowed tolerances. The race finish is encumbered per Section 12.10 (Euncumbered Race Finishes) of the rule book.

As a result, Crew chief Kevin Bellicourt has been fined $5,000 and suspended from the next NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points event. The team has been assessed with the loss of 10 driver and 10 owner points.

Haley drove the No. 24 Chevrolet to a 17th-place finish at Charlotte, and Haley was in 18th place in the driver standings before the penalty. After the penalty, he dropped to 22nd place.

NASCAR also announced that team member Joseph P. Light has successfully completed NASCAR's Road to Recovery program, and that his NASCAR suspension has been lifted. He was indefinitely suspended March 16.
