If you recall, during the off-season, Kurt Busch, 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, was in trouble for (Quoting a Delaware Judge) almost surely choked and beat his former wife, Patricia Driscoll, last September at Dover International Speedway.
Well, Busch's final appeal was denied by NASCAR, so he remains out of the Daytona 500.
Regan Smith will replace him in the race.
But what happened to Kyle Busch?
Well, he was injured in yesterday's XFINITY Series opener at Daytona International Speedway. He is likely to be out for 5-6 months.
Busch hit a part of the Daytona International Speedway wall that had no Safer-Barriers.
Busch did not even go to the Infield Care Center, he went straight to Halifax Medical Center.
The last time the DAYTONA 500 had no Busch brothers was in 2000. Kurt Busch ran his first Daytona 500 in 2001. He finished 41st in the race.

The news was that Busch was alive, and alert and responsive in the Halifax Medical Center only minutes from Daytona International Speedway.Busch will not be in today's Daytona 500, as I said before, he may be out 5-6 months.
