Daytona Beach, Fla.--- Well, this was a hell of a race.

Matt Kenneth must have had one happy Valentine's Day.

Let's start out at the beginning.

Due to a blind fan vote, Paul Menard got the pole. AJ Allmendinger made this race because of his win at Watkins Glen in 2014, But he declined to focus more on the DAYTONA 500.

Brian Vickers, who won one pole in 2014 also made this race, but couldn't participate due to an open-heart surgery in December 2014.

Clint Bowyer took his place.

Let's just say, 25 cars started the race, but only twelve finished.

Early in the race, Brad Keselowski spun into the grass in the trip-oval after getting hit by Kyle Larson. Keselowski came up the track and just barely missed Jimmie Johnson as they were in the tri-oval. Kyle Busch and Austin Dillon almost went with him. Keselowski finished last. The final caution was involving Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle. Stewart tried to squeeze past Kyle Busch, but it didn't work.

Luckily, no one was hurt, but fans were worried about Tony Stewart. He had off-season leg surgery in December of 2014, but came back to race in the Sprint Unlimited.

Then, later on, Jamie McMurray spun as the cars exited turn 4, and many more were involved. This time, Johnson wasn't so lucky. Denny Hamlin went spinning in the grass, through the WHOLE tri-oval, and when Hamlin came to a stop, Johnson T-boned him. Paul Menard was involved.

"It's going to be a good week," Kenseth told ESPN.

The next race(s) will be on February 19th, 2015 as DAYTONA International Speedway hosts the Budweiser Duels.

Then, the DAYTONA 500 will be on February 22nd.

Kenseth is a two-time winner of the upcoming Daytona 500.

Kenneth told a lot to ESPN.

"There's nothing like winning. That's why we come out and do this every week. Getting a win was the best part for us."
