New NASCAR on NBC Sports Ad Sparks Controversy

By @GucciardoJoey | February 2nd 2015

Well, NBC Sports will be back covering NASCAR races this season starting on July 4th weekend.

To promote this return, NBC Sports released an ad featuring Nick Offerman (Famous for playing Ron Swanson in NBC's "Parks and Recreation.") in what I think is a hilarious commercial.

The ad, which depicts NASCAR as a welcoming, fun, and humorous sport, inspired a petition that was signed by over 18,000 people on Change.org so far. A man named "Gluten Dude" started the petition. He claims that the ad "makes fun" of those who are gluten-free.

Click Here for the petition if interested.

Gluten Dude apparently has Celiac disease. He wrote "Celiac can be a true pain. The media is not helping and this petition is to get NBC to see the light of day."

Should NBC remove this ad, or should they keep running it?
