Returning to Penske Racing in 2014 is none other than Juan Pablo Montoya.
Montoya's last race in NASCAR was at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November, which was won by Denny Hamlin.
Juan moved to the Verizon IndyCar Racing team owned by his only NASCAR team owner Roger Penske. Montoya came close to making racing history in 2009. He won the Indianapolis 500 in 2000, and almost won the Brickyard 400 in 2009. He finished second, not bad considering it was his rookie year in NASCAR. Montoya would have been the first auto racer to win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in both IndyCar Racing and in NASCAR.
Montoya talked to the media at Indy this morning:
"It's one of those places where I feel like I got robbed a few times. To be able to come here and be able to close that deal will be really, really nice."
Montoya will drive the No. 12 Ford to hopefully be part of the June 15th race at Michigan Int'l Speedway.
