Justin Allgaier won Saturday's DC Solar 200 at Phoenix International Raceway and the $100K Dash 4 Cash bonus, ending an 80-race NASCAR XFINITY Series winless streak dating back to the 2012 season.
The win was Allgaier's fourth in his NASCAR XFINITY Series career, and his first with JR. Motorsportz.
"This is a team effort, Allgaier said. "We had four great JR. Motorsports cars out there today."
On winning the first Dash 4 Cash prize lmof the season, and the chances of winning the $1,000,000 grand prize, Allgaier said "Well, we got the first one out of the way."
Ryan Blaney finished second, followed by Erik Jones, William Byron, and Elliott Sadler to round out the Top-5.
"We were really good on the long runs," Blaney said. "Unfortunately we didn't get any of those in the end."
Late in the race, while battling for a top spot, Austin Dillon was spun by Cole Custer. After the caution was thrown, Dillon waited for Custer in Turn 2 to blpck Custer into the outsode wall.
"It was 100 percent my fault," Custer said. "It sucks for us pointswise. You can expect that (response). I can understand how frustrated he is."
Dillon was told to speak to NASCAR officials after the race for the retaliation.
"We'll probably just have some Cokes and discuss things," Dillon said on the meeting before the race ended.
