Darlington Raceway has added 4,600 feet of the SAFER barrier in time for this weekend's action, which culminates with the Southern 500 on Sunday night on NBC.

The energy-absorbing barrier has been added to the outside walls along the frontstretch and backstretch. The track added the SAFER barrier in the corners in 2004. The energy-absorbing barrier has been added to the outside walls along the frontstretch and backstretch.
