Today's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying session at Darlington Raceway was exciting.

In Round 1, Kurt Busch was fastest. 2nd fastest was Ricky Stenhouse Jr., 3rd fastest was Joey Logano, and Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Busch, and Brad Keselowski were some drivers that followed (in that order).
Jimmie Johnson almost missed the cut to make Round 2. He fell to 25th fastest when he was pushed below 24th fastest, as the drivers with the 24 fastest laps would make Round 2. Johnson went on track and made a lap that put him in 24th fastest. Johnson would make the cut.
All Roush Fenway Racing, Team Penske, and Joe Gibbs Racing drivers made the 2nd round.
Josh Wise, Timmy Hill, and Travis Kvapil were the drivers who failed to qualify for tomorrow Sprint Cup race.
Greg Biffle would hit the wall in Round 2 of qualifying. The two-time winner would not have too much damage. Johnson would not make Round 3 after his great effort that put him into Round 2. Johnson will start 19th tomorrow night.
Brad Keselowski was fastest in Round 2. 2nd fastest was Kevin Harvick, 3rd fastest was Joey Logano, and following would Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Aric Almirola, etc. (in that order).
Harvick actually set the track qualifying record last year at Darlington in 2014 with a lap of 183.479 MPH.
Brad Keselowski would be fastest in Round 3, which would win him the pole. His speed in Round 3 was 178.874 MPH.
