Goodyear Moving Forward With '16 Testing
According to Goodyear officials, there are still some NASCAR tire tests to be ran at Homestead-Miami Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The Homestead test, along with the Vegas test, are to be ran after the current season. The Homestead test is on tap for December 14-15 and the Las Vegas test is slated for January 12-13, 2016. A test at Atlanta Motor Speedway is also possible at this time.
"Atlanta is a recent addition," Stu Grant, Goodyear's General Manager for Global Race Tires, told NASCAR.com this past weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. "We’ve talked to NASCAR about 'hey do you want to make an open test for that? It's most likely that we'll end up with a different tire for the Atlanta race for 2016. … We want to test the 2016 rules package and you guys may want to have an open test.'"
Gordon And Axalta Racing Release Final Paint Scheme For Homestead
Jeff Gordon and Axalta Racing have released pictures of Gordon's final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series paint scheme that he will race in his final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The car has flames on its side, similar to the ones that Gordon used to have on one of his older paint schemes, which had a blue body with red flames, and the typical No. 24 on the roof, and sides. That car had one of Gordon's mostly known sponsors, Dupont. Exalt has served as Gordon's sponsor since the 2013 season, where he had been on-and-off with sponsoring AARP's "Drive To End Hunger" and Axalta.
