UNB! NETWORK STAFF REPORT
According to NASCAR, four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and two NASCAR XFINITY Series teams will be docked pracice time for their respective practice sessions at Chicagoland Speedway.
The teams of Alex Bowman, Michael McDowell and JJ Yeley were late getting to the inspection line prior to qualifying at Richmond this past weekend. The result of that will be the two teams being docked practice time at Chicagoland's opening Sprint Cup practice, which begins this Friday at 12:30pm ET.
Jeb Burton will miss 30 minutes in opening Sprint Cup practice after being late to both qualifying and race inspection.
15 minutes of practice time for the next racing weekend will be docked from a team for every inspection that they arrive late to.
The two NASCAR XFINITY Series teams that will serve penalties will be the teams of Benny Gordon and Ryan Ellis.
Ellis' team was late to inspection two weekends ago at Darlington Raceway. He would have served his penalty at Riichmond, but his team did not enter the race. Gordon's team was late to qualifying inspection at Richmond last weekend.
