Kevin Harvick leads rain-shortened first Sprint Cup practice at Richmond


Kevin Harvick on Friday led opening Sprint Cup Series practice at Richmond International Speedway after the practice session was rained out after one hour and two minutes of running time.

Harvick led the session with a speed of 129.069 MPH.

Joey Logano came in second, Jimmie Johnson came in third, Carl Edwards came in fourth and Denny Hamlin came in fifth to round out the Top-5.

Tony Stewart ran 38 laps, the most in the session. He finished the session in 18th.

Michael Annett spun early in the session and made contact with the inside wall on the backstretch. The team will have to go to a backup.

40 of the event's 41 entered cars ran laps in the session.
