William Byron was fastest during opening practice at Martinsville Speedway with a speed of 95.309 MPH.

Byron was followed by Timothy Peters, Kyle Busch, Johnny Sauter, Cole Custer, Tyler Young, Matt Crafton, Daniel Hemric, Ben Rhodes, and Kyle Larson.

Of all drivers that participated, Claire Decker had the slowest speed of 69.386 MPH.

Christopher Bell had the best consecutive 10-lap average with a speed of 92.676 MPH.

35 drivers practiced during the session. Paige Decker was the only entered driver who did not participate in the session.
