Hamlin leads, but spins in weather-shortened Sprint Cup happy hour at Michigan

BROOKLYN, MI -- Denny Hamlin on Saturday led a weather-shortened NASCAR Sprint Cup Series happy hour at Michigan due to lightning. Hamlin led with a speed of 197.878 MPH.

Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Brad Keselowski led the session.

Kyle Larson had the best 10-consecutive lap average at 196.346 MPH.

Jeffrey Earnhardt was slowest at 186.960 MPH.

The only driver with no speed was Ree Sorenson.

Larson led the most laps in the session at 22.

Early in the session, Hamlin spun off turn 4, went through the infield grass, and had some damage to the front end of his No. 11 Toyota.
