On Friday at Auto Club Speedway, Austin Dillon won the pole position for Sunday's Auto Club 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the track.
Dillon won the pole with speed of 188.482mph for his 1st pole of 2016, 1st at Auto Club and 2nd of his career.
Dillon also led Friday's first practice session for the race with a speed of 188.511
Denny Hamlin set a new track record of 188.511 MPH in the 2nd round, the same speed as Dillon's fastest time in Friday's practice session.
Kevin Harvick is on the outside pole followed by Hamlin, Ryan Newman, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Trevor Bayne, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Jamie McMurray, AJ Allmendinger and Kasey Kahne.
Only 39 cars entered the race, so all qualified and will participate.
Kasey Kahne failed to get to the start-finish line in time in the final round and got no time and will start 12th.
Brad Keselowski was fastest in the first round with a speed of 188.482 MPH and will start 15th.
