GARAGE TALK: Glen Resurfacing Complete/Testing at AMS

UNB! NETWORK STAFF REPORT

New Surface for The Glen
Re-paving work at Watkins Glen International has been completed, according to track officials as the track prepares for the '16 racing season.

The Glen is one of two road-course tarcks on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit.

The next thing for the Glen is to install concrete rumble strips, begin grading and grassing of off-surface areas, adding concrete along pit road as well as other projects.

Watkins Glen, or "WGI" for short, hosted its first NASCAR event in 1957.

Goodyear/Teams Return to AMS
Last week's Goodyear test at Atlanta Motor Speedway, postponed due to rain, got underway Tuesday at the 1.5-mile track with Jamie McMurray, Bobby Labonte, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and David Ragan taking part in the test that continues Wednesday (the day that this article was written).

Labonte was filling in for Austin Dillon while Ragan was testing with the No. 19 team of Carl Edwards.
