Kyle Busch dominates, wins XFINITY Series race at Phoenix

Kyle Busch celebrates his victory in today's NASCAR XFINITY Series
race at Phoenix International Raceway.
Kyle Busch stretched the little fuel left in his No. 54 Toyota to earn his sixth victory this season at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver, who sat on the pole, dominated the field throughout the afternoon, pacing the field for a race-high 190 laps.

Busch remains the all-time winningest XFINITY Series driver with 76 career wins in the series.

Runner-up Brad Keselowski was Busch's biggest competitor, and the defending race winner, racing in the top tier for most of the afternoon and leading seven laps around the one-mile oval.

Busch's teammates Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez recorded top fives for the organization, finishing third and fourth, respectively. Richard Childress Racing's Ty Dillon rounded out the top five in fifth.

The race saw three cautions for accidents and six lead changes.

Reigning series champion Chase Elliott nabbed a seventh-place result to stay in the championship hunt.

With one race remaining in the season, the XFINITY Series point standings tightened, as current leader Chris Buescher tops second-place Elliott by only 18 points and third-place Dillon by 22 points. The champion will be crowned on Nov. 21 at Homestead-Miami Speedway following the final race of the season (Nov. 21 at 2:45 p.m. ET (NBC/MRN).
