Here are some basic tire notes and facts for the tires that will be used by the NASCAR Sprint Cup and XFINITY Series at Richmond Interational Raceway this weekend:
NASCAR SPRINT CUP & XFINITY SERIES:
Tire: Goodyear Eagle Intermediate Radials
Set limits:
Sprint Cup: 5 sets for practice/qualifying and 10 sets for the race;
Xfinity: 6 sets for the event
Tire Codes:
Left-side -- D-4674; Right-side -- D-4676
Tire Circumference:
Left-side -- 87.20 in. (2,215 mm);
Right-side -- 88.27 in. (2,242 mm)
Minimum Recommended Inflation:
Left Front -- 12 psi; Left Rear -- 12 psi;
Right Front -- 30 psi; Right Rear -- 27 psi
Notes: Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series will run the same Goodyear tire set-up at Richmond this week . . . this is the first time either of these two tire codes have been run . . . this tire set-up was confirmed at a Goodyear test at Richmond on March 29 . . . drivers participating in that test were Greg Biffle, Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano and Danica Patrick . . . compared to what was run at Richmond last year, this set-up features a compound change on the right-side.
