Trevor Bayne will be making his 100th - career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start this Sunday at Martinsville Speedway in the STP 500.
But the milestone will have to be made in a backup car.
With just minutes remaining in Friday's opening Sprint Cup Series practice session for the race, Bayne was involved in a single-car wreck that sent him into the wall and caused extensive damage to his No. 6 Ford.
Bayne's team unloaded the backup car to use for the rest of the race weekend.
