A plane carrying NASCAR Truck Series officials and others to Texas Motor Speedway on Thursday morning was forced to land shortly after takeoff at Concord Regional Airport due to mechanical issues.
The resulting delay of officials at Texas prevented the Truck garage from opening at the scheduled time and teams will miss some of the allotted practice time for the weekend.
NASCAR officials are in the process of completing a revamped schedule for Thursday's track activity, which is part of a doubleheader weekend with the IndyCar Series.
According to NASCAR, travels delays resulting from mechanical issues on a plane carrying "industry representatives" has pushed back the opening of the Camping World Truck Series garage at Texas Motor Speedway and forced the cancellation of the first of three practice sessions.
Originally scheduled to open at 12:30 p.m. ET, the Truck garage will not open until 3:30 p.m. ET. That was when the first practice session was set to begin. Now the Truck series will practice twice, from 6 - 6:45 p.m. ET and 7:30 - 9 p.m. ET. Neither session is on TV.
