“Perfect execution, awesome job,” Logano told the crew. “That’s what we need to do guys. Get ready to party.”
With 12 laps to go, Denny Hamlin had tire issues that threw out the caution, which resulted in the late-race restart.
Elliott would finish second, while Kyle Larson would finish third. Brad Keselowski finished fourth, followed by Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart, Austin Dillon, Jamie McMurray and Kurt Busch to round out the Top-10.
Logan beat Elliott to the finish by just 0.889 seconds.
Elliott was leading on a restart on lap 154, when he missed a shift and gave Logano the lead. Logan beat Elliott to the finish by just 0.889 seconds.
“You can’t expect to do dumb stuff — and I did today,” said Elliott, who dropped to fourth but recovered for a career-high second-place finish. When asked what the driver could have done differently, Elliott replied, “Putting it in the correct gear would be a good start."
