Sprint Cup and Trucks tire notes and facts for Sonoma and Gateway

From Jayski.

NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES:
Set limits: 5 sets for practice/qualifying, and 5 sets for the race

Tire Code: D-4678 (same on all four tire positions)

Tire Circumference: 88.66 in. (2,252 mm)

Minimum Recommended Inflation:
Left Front -- 22 psi; Right Front -- 20 psi;
Left Rear -- 17 psi; Right Rear -- 17 psi

Notes: Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will run the same Goodyear tire code (D-4678) on all four tire positions at Sonoma . . . this is the first time teams will be running this code . . . compared to what was run at Sonoma last year, this tire features a decrease in tread gage (thickness) . . . as on all NASCAR road courses, teams will not run inner liners in their tires at Sonoma.

Wet Weather Tires: Goodyear will bring its wet weather radials (D-4215) for use at Sonoma, should NASCAR decide that conditions warrant . . . teams are allowed up to three sets of "wets" for practice/qualifying and up to three sets for the race . . . this tire code was last run by NASCAR Xfinity Series teams at Road America in 2014.

NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES:

Tire: Goodyear Eagle Intermediate Radials

Set limits: 5 sets for the event

Tire Codes:
Left-side -- D-4674;
Right-side -- D-4676

Tire Circumference:
Left-side -- 87.20 in. (2,215 mm);
Right-side -- 88.27 in. (2,242 mm)

Minimum Recommended Inflation:
Left Front -- 15 psi; Right Front -- 31 psi;
Left Rear -- 13 psi; Right Rear -- 28 psi

Notes: This is a new tire set-up for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams at Gateway . . . this is the first time either of these two tire codes have been run . . . compared to what was run at Gateway last year, this set-up features a slight compound change and has been brought into line with what the Sprint Cup and Xfinity cars ran at Richmond in April . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Gateway . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
