INDIANAPOLIS – Kyle Busch on Saturday won the pole for the Crown Royal presents the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with speed of 184.634mph for his 2nd pole of 2016, 1st at Indianapolis and 19 of his career. Busch has won from the pole 3 times in 18 previous tries.
Carl Edwards will start 2nd, followed by Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, Martin Truex, Jr., Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson.
Jeff Gordon, subbing for Dale Dale Earnhardt, Jr., will start 21st.
Busch was fastest in the second round with a speed of 185.22 MPH and will start from the pole.
Jimmie Johnson paced the opening round of qualifying at 185.816 MPH and starts 13th.
Josh Wise was the only driver that failed to qualify.
