LONG POND, PA — Paul Menard on Friday led first NASCAR Sprint Series practice for the Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway with a speed of 177.438 MPH.
Denny Hamlin came in second, followed by Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick to round out the Top-5.
Reed Sorenson was slowest at 162.911 MPH.
Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. ran 22 laps, the most in the session.
The start of practice was delayed by more than 20 minutes while NASCAR dried the track of some weepers. Qualifying is scheduled for today at 4:15pm/et and will be shown on NBCSN. There is a chance of rain throughout the day (and the weekend).
