Armstrong at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course:
Dakoda will be making his third career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. He has a best finish of 10th at the 2.4-mile road course which came during the 2014 event.
Dakoda's Thoughts on Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course:
"Mid-Ohio is a very technical track and one where you can easily get into trouble. The racing surface is very narrow for the most part and thus passing can be difficult. Our focus this week is to keep our nose clean and stay on track."
"I think I learned a good amount last week at Watkins Glen that hopefully translates to this week at Mid-Ohio. We are in a points battle with only a handful of races before the Chase so we need to stay out of trouble and focus on running our race."
Remembering Bryan Clauson:
JGL Racing will pay tribute to Bryan Clauson this weekend at Mid-Ohio by running a special BC logo on the C-Post of their No.28 Winfield Toyota.
Dakoda was very close to BC is his early years of racing. Bryan raced for the family owned Armstrong Racing and won a Midget Championship with the Armstrong's. Dakoda and Bryan grew up racing together and spent a large amount of time with each others family.
"Wow, I still cant believe it," stated Dakoda. "I am at a loss for words. Such a tragedy. RIP Bryan Clauson."
Steven Lane, crew chief of the No. 28 Toyota, worked with BC during his days at Ganassi Racing. Bryan attempted a few starts in the Sprint Cup Series led by Lane but their attempts were washed out by rain cancelling qualifying.
"What a tremendous young man BC was," added Lane. "Bryan was a true talent in our sport and our thoughts and prayers go out to the Clauson family."
Watkins Glen Rewind:
After piloting the No. 18 Toyota in a one race deal last week in Iowa, Dakoda Armstrong returned to the seat of his full-time ride as the NASCAR XFINITY Series entered its first of three road course events on the schedule. The New Castle, Indiana native would steer clear of any on-track trouble and brought his No. 28 JGL Racing Toyota home to an 18th place finish in the running of the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International.
