JOLIET, IL -- Dakoda Armstrong will be making his sixth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Chicagoland Speedway to go along with three previous starts in the Camping World Truck Series and one in the ARCA Racing Series. Armstrong has a best XFINITY Series finish of 15th at the Joliet, IL track.
"The track at Chicagoland has really worn over the years and that makes it a really fun place to race at," Armstrong said. "It is really important to get your car to handle well over the bumps and to maintain your momentum. I have had good speed at Chicagoland over the years and I know this JGL Racing team will bring me a fast No. 28 Toyota - so it should be fun."
"This is our last race before the Chase and we mathematically still have a chance. We missed a big opportunity to close the gap last week in Richmond but we will go out there this week in Chicago and give it our best shot."
In 2016, Armstrong has an average finishing position of 19.2 with a best finish of 5th back at Iowa Speedway in July. He currently sits 13th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series standings.
Steven Lane will serve as crew chief for Armstrong's No. 28 JGL Racing Toyota.
