Racing under the lights, JJ Yeley finished 14th in the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.
"Another good run for my Zachry TriStar Motorsports Toyota here at Kentucky Speedway," Yeley said. "Frank had the car on-point all night long. We only made small air pressure adjustments to fine tune the handling. As long as I could keep my momentum up, I could run top-5 speeds, my only problem was catching cars was one thing, passing them was another. I had a few close calls with traffic and restarts, the second groove never really got very clean, so the line was very narrow. It's always nice to have good finishes and even better when we have Zachry guests there to enjoy with us."
Yeley qualified the No. 44 Zachry Toyota 17th and relayed on lap seven the handling was nice in turns one and two and a little free in turns three and four.
Under a NASCAR mandated competition caution on lap 25, Yeley pitted for four tires, fuel, track bar and air pressure adjustments. He returned to the field and continued to run in the top-20 and into the top-15. At the halfway mark, lap 100, Yeley was scored 15th, when under caution, Crew Chief Frank Kerr made the call to bring Yeley to pit under green for four tires and fuel.
Yeley was able to get the Zachry Toyota as high as third during the caution laden 200-lap event. Through a series of pit stop adjustments and as the race end neared, Yeley indicated the handling of the Zachry Toyota was a little more snug.
As the checkered flag waved, Yeley crossed the finish line 14th in the Zachry Toyota to end the day at Kentucky Speedway.
