CHARLOTTE: Today's Sprint Cup & XFINITY Practice & Qualifying Notes

NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES
Friday first practice for the Bank of America Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway is over.

After 55 scheduled minutes, top five, slowest and notes:
1.) Kurt Busch - 188.772 MPH
2.) Carl Edwards - 188.620 MPH
3.) Ryan Newman - 187.630 MPH

4.) Martin Truex Jr. - 187.572 MPH
5.) Joey Logano - 187.487 MPH


Slowest: Alex Kennedy - 177.567 MPH and Reed Soresnson - 179.247 MPH

Most Laps Run: Tony Stewart, 49; Kyle Busch 48

NASCAR XFINITY SERIES
Austin Dillon won the Coors Light pole for the Drive for the Cure 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a speed of 183.524 MPH. Kasey Kahne will start second. The rest of the top 10: Erik Jones, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch, Brian Scott, Daniel Suarez, Ty Dillon, Darrell Wallace, Jr., and Elliott Sadler. 

Did Not Qualify: None.
