Mason Mingus will make his second NASCAR XFINITY Series start Saturday at Kansas Speedway, driving the #97 VroomBrands Chevy Camaro for Obaika Racing.
The driver's start in the Kansas Lottery 300 will follow a 24th-place finish in his series debut with the team last month at Chicagoland Speedway. The Kansas race takes place on an off week in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, in which Mingus competes full-time for Billy Boat Motorsports.
Obaika Racing is in its first season competing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Based in Mooresville, N.C., and led by crew chief John Monsam, the team has fielded multiple drivers in its #97 entry in 2015
