Timothy Peters will start from the pole for the Fred's 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. He ran a fast lap at 178.304mph. John Wes Townley will start second. Erik Jones, Daniel Hemric, Ben Kennedy, Matt Tifft, Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, Spencer Gallagher and Christopher Bell close out the top-10. Andy Seuss and Ryan Ellis did not qualify.
NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES
Jeff Gordon won the Coors Light pole for the CampingWorld.com 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway with speed of 194.500mph for his 4th pole of 2015, 5th at Talladega and 81st of his career.
Kasey Kahne is on the outside pole followed by Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Trevor Bayne, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, and Tony Stewart.
Martin Truex, Jr will start 43rd after having his time disallowed for going below the yellow line on his qualifying attempt.
Missing the race was Jeb Burton & Michael Annett.
