Landon Huffman Set to Make Long Awaited ARCA Debut at Berlin

CONCORD, NC (August 3, 2016) – Landon Huffman, a third-generation driver, will make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut driving for Venturini Motorsports in this weekend’s ARCA 200 at Berlin Raceway.

Landon Huffman, a native of Claremont, North Carolina, signed on with the team earlier this year and will drive the No.15 Catawba Valley Reclamation Toyota for this single race event. Huffman becomes the seventh different VMS driver to strap in behind the wheel of the No.15 car this season – joining an impressive list of talent which includes William Byron, Christopher Bell, Matt Tifft, Dakota Armstrong, Christian Eckes and Cole Williams.

The 20-year old Huffman is a full-time student studying Marketing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and possess a strong racing pedigree. Landon, son of former NASCAR driver Robert Huffman, has split his time behind the wheel this season racing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and the CARS Tour. In his first career CARS Tour start back in May Huffman sat on the pole and finished fifth at Hickory Motor Speedway. Overall, in 13-events this season he’s earned four top-5 and 12 top-10 finishes.

“This is truly one of the biggest highlights of my career so far,” said Huffman. “I’m humbled and thankful for the opportunity this coming weekend to drive for Venturini Motorsports. It’s been a long time coming - there’s been a lot of great people who’ve helped me get to this point in my career. I can’t think of a better opportunity to show what I can do inside a racecar.”

Huffman credits Venturini Motorsports for helping him prepare for his first career ARCA start. “I’ve traveled with VMS several times throughout the season and have spotted a couple of times. There’s no doubt this has been helpful. Getting to know the guys and getting a feel for how the team operates at the track has been a great experience – I’m really comfortable with everyone and feel well prepared for the weekend. Billy (Venturini) has been a huge help prepping me – I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do and just maybe I’ll be able to help end Chase Briscoe’s current ARCA Series winning streak.”

Jeff McClure, who was the race winning crew chief for Christopher Bell in his first series start at Salem Speedway, will call the shots for Huffman at Berlin.
