NASCAR road racing rolls into the spotlight at Watkins Glen International this weekend to top the motor sports calendar that includes the K&N Pro Series East, NASCAR Whelen Modified and Southern Modified Tours along with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
Motor Racing Network - "The Voice of NASCAR" - will open its coverage from The Glen with both Sprint Cup practice sessions on Friday, at 12:30 and 3 p.m. (ET). Later that day, the K&N Pro Series East Bully Hill Vineyards 100 will be contested on the 2.45-mile natural road course.
Saturday's broadcast slate opens at 12 p.m. with Sprint Cup qualifying to set the field for Sunday's Cheez-It 355. AJ Allmendinger won the pole last year and finished 24th in the race. Saturday's MRN doubleheader will wrap with exclusive radio coverage of the Zippo 200 at The Glen, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Joey Logano is the defending winner. Dave Moody and Steve Post will anchor the broadcast.
Air time for Sunday's Cheez-It 355 also is 1:30 p.m. (ET). Logano is defending winner. The MRN broadcast from Watkins Glen, N.Y., will be anchored by Joe Moore and Jeff Striegle with analysis from Hall of Fame driver Rusty Wallace.
