STATESVILLE, NC (August 3, 2016) - TriStar Motorsports welcomes Tomy Drissi as the driver of the No. 14 Toyota for the upcoming NASCAR XFINITY Series road course races in Watkins Glen,
Mid-Ohio and Road America.
A seasoned driver, Tomy Drissi's obsession for racing began at an early age with street racing on Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Throughout the years, Drissi has participated in various racing series; ALMS, Trans-Am, NASCAR and Speed World Challenge and is creditably noted for securing the honor of 2009 Trans-Am Champion. He has also obtained multiple wins in Trans-AM and IMSA/ALMS. His most recent racing career accolade came earlier this year when he participated in the 24 Hours of Daytona and claimed a third place finish. For the past three consecutive years, he has finished third, second and third in the 24 Hours of Daytona. Tomy is more than ready to secure that win and most importantly that watch. In addition to racing, Drissi owns an advertising firm that produces upcoming film displays for cinemas.
For Watkins Glen, Drissi will feature the Arthritis Foundation on the hood of the No. 14 Toyota; a cause that holds a personal connection for Drissi as his wife Lacy was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 16 months. Tomy and Lacy are avid supporters of the Arthritis Foundation and their initiatives. The Arthritis Foundation provides resources to those who have been diagnosed and also raises money to send children to camp.
"I want to thank Mark Smith for allowing me the opportunity to drive for TriStar Motorsports", stated Drissi. "Watkins Glen has such a rich heritage of racing and I am thrilled to be able to race this weekend in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Having the support of the Arthritis Foundation is very meaningful and it's an honor to represent them and TriStar. We may not be the largest team out there but we have the biggest heart and we will do our best to secure a solid finish."
"We want to welcome Tomy to the TriStar family", said Mark Smith, owner of TriStar Motorsports. "Drissi is a strong competitor and we look forward to him being behind the wheel of the No. 14. His support of the Arthritis Foundation hits close to home for our family as well. Our daughter, Amy, was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at the age of two. Kathy and I are proud and honored to have the Arthritis Foundation represented on one our cars and we thank Tomy for that opportunity."
