DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – After a one-month break the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour returns to action this Saturday at Bowman Gray Stadium and one driver looking forward to the return is Danny Bohn.
Bohn joined L.W. Miller as the only drivers to score back-to-back southern tour wins at the stadium and will attempt to become the fourth driver in the history of the tour to score three wins in a row at one track.
Bowman Gray Stadium is the home track to brothers Burt and Jason Myers and also to Bohn’s car owner Frank Fleming. Burt Myers has won twice at the stadium (2005 and 2007), and enters the Strutmasters.com 199 as the championship points leader.
Myers leads George Brunnhoelzl III by eight points (221-213) as he goes for his third win of the season.
Frank Fleming has stepped out of the driver’s seat this season to serve as crew chief for Bohn. Chris Fleming will enter this race in his familiar No. 13 car he has entered in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events at his home track.

The Race: The Sturtmasters.com 199 is the sixth race on the 11-race 2016 schedule for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, now in its 12th season.
The Procedure: The maximum starting field is 26 cars, including provisionals. The first 23 cars will qualify through two-lap time trials. The remaining three spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race is scheduled for 199 laps (49.99 miles) with an optional pit stop allowed at or near Lap 139. There will be a three minute break for the Hoosier Pick A Tire optional pit stop. If teams choose to do so, they can also stay out and not pit. Cars that elect to pit will line up how they exit the pits behind the lead lap cars that stayed on the track.
The Track: NASCAR's very first weekly track, Bowman Gray Stadium’s famed quarter-mile has been in continuous operation since 1949. The Stadium has played host to the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour every year since NASCAR began sanctioning the division in 2005.
Race Winners: There have been eight different winners across the 11 previous Whelen Southern Modified Tour events at Bowman Gray, led by Danny Bohn, Burt Myers and L.W. Miller with two wins apiece.

Gerstner will also field a car owned by his wife Dawn and driven by Shawn Balluzo from Newport News, Virginia, who has won numerous modified track titles at Virginia's Langley Speedway. Gerstner scored his best tour finish last season at Bowman Gray in third.
Bowman Gray Continues Streak: Saturday’s Strutmasters.com 199 will be the 12th NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour season in a row a touring event has been held at Bowman Gray, which will make Caraway Speedway the only track on the schedule that has hosted more tour races than BGS.
Measmer Jr. Still Searching For First Win: Bobby Measmer Jr. returns to Bowman Gray still in search of his first NWSMT win. The Concord, North Carolina, driver finished fifth last season at the stadium and has a top finish of second in 29 career starts.
Winstead Returns To Tour: Richmond, Virginia, native A.J. Winstead returns to the tour this Saturday trying to make his first start of the season. Winstead has made three starts at Bowman Gray with one top-10 finish (ninth) in 2014.
Seuss Returns To Winning Ways: Defending tour champion Andy Seuss won last month at Caraway and currently sits third in the standings 11 points behind Burt Myers and is still looking for his first win at the stadium.
Graduation To Racing: Trey Hutchens III will join the Myers brothers as a third-generation stadium competitor in the field as the recent high school graduate will return to Bowman Gray Stadium looking for his first tour win.
Home Tracks: Myers Leads NWAAS Track Standings in Final Month
Burt Myers has scored just a pair of wins so far this season at his home track, but the third-generation driver leads the standings in the final month of the season as he searches for his seventh track title. The Walnut Cove, N.C. driver leads Lee Jeffreys by 63 points (519-456) in the track standings with Myers’ younger brother Jason in third. Tim Brown, who owns 10 BGS track titles, won last Saturday and Jason Myers also scored a win as they lead all drivers with three feature wins this season.
