LOUDON, NH — Carl Edwards on Saturday led first Sprint Cup Series Saturday practice for Sunday's New Hampshire 301 with a speed of 131.456 MPH.
Denny Hamlin was second, followed by Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott.
Ryan Ellis was slowest at 124.434 MPH.
Edwards and Kurt Busch ran the most laps in the session (47 laps each).
Chase Elliott scraped the wall with his right rear fender before the halfway point of the session. The damage was minimal and he will not have to go to a backup.
