Watkins Glen, NY--- Last year's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winner at Watkins Glen International, AJ Allmendinger, has won the pole for tomorrow's Cheez-IT 355 at the track.
Allmendinger's win last year at the track was the win that guaranteed him a spot in the 16-driver field Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Watkins Glen is the only track he's ever won at in his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career.
Allmendinger's speed in Round 2 was 127.839 MPH, which was the fastest speed of all speeds set by all the drivers who made the round.
Following Allmendinger was Martin Truex Jr., Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon to round out the Top-5 Kyle Larson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, and Austin Dillon would round out the Top-10.
The other two drivers that made the second round were Brad Keselowski (Starting 11th), and Justin Allgaier (Starting 12th)
TJ Bell was the only driver who failed to qualify for tomorrow's event.
