Today's qualifying session had an interesting ending. All four Joe Gibbs Racing cars will start 1-2-3-4 for this weekend's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway.
Qualifying Fast Facts
Matt Kenseth won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 46th Annual Pure Michigan 400 with a lap of 36.458 seconds, 197.488 mph.
- This is his 16th pole in 567 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. He ties NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett and NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Curtis Turner for 45th on the all-time series poles list.
- This is his third pole and 13th top-10 start in 2015. He matches a career-high in poles (2011 and 2013).
- This is his first pole in 33 races at Michigan International Speedway. His previous best Michigan start was second in August of 2011.
Denny Hamlin, who qualified second, posted his 10th top-10 start of 2015 and his ninth in 20 races at Michigan International Speedway.
Carl Edwards, who qualified third, posted his sixth top-10 start at Michigan International Speedway. It is his 13th in 23 races this season.
